Cosplay Contest

Cosplay Contest sign up is now open!
You can use this form to sign up!The contest will take place in the Alumni center AGR room at 5PM.You may sign up as duos, but any group larger than two is not allowed.Please make sure to follow the props and cosplay rules below if you wish to participate in the contest!

IMPORTANT: Props and Cosplay Rules

Aggie Host Security Division from the University of California, Davis Police Department, reserves the right to maintain security, safety, and hospitality during the Davis Anime Convention. Please adhere to their instructions and directions.DAiCon is a family-friendly convention and children are welcome and encouraged to attend, so please keep that in mind when choosing your cosplay.

Props

  • NO LIVE STEEL at all will be permitted on the premises of the convention.
    - No sharp edges or objects that could be used as a weapon are allowed.
    - Any metal chains are to be less than three feet (3’) in length. This includes, but is not limited to chain wallets or any non-costume chains as well.

  • NO GUNS OR PROJECTILE LAUNCHERS OF ANY KIND will be permitted.
    - NO prop guns of ANY KIND allowed.

  • Prop weapons shall be limited to less than six feet, six inches (6’6″) in height, and less than fifty pounds (50lbs) in weight.

Cosplay

  • Outfits must cover at least as much as a swimsuit and shoes/sandals must be worn at all times. Makeup and bodypaint are allowed, but do not count towards body coverage. Body paint should be set or sealed so that it will not rub off onto the surroundings.

  • Leashes, ropes, chains, etc. connecting two or more people are not allowed for safety reasons.

  • Skate-shoes, roller skates, and rollerblades are not allowed. Skateboarding is not allowed, though skateboards may be used as props if they meet the convention guidelines.

  • Current US military uniforms, costumes that may be confused with law enforcement, or other emergency response personnel are not permitted.

Miscellaneous

  • NO ALCOHOL, LIGHTERS, CIGARETTES, AND PEPPER SPRAY permitted at the convention.

Cosplay Gathering Sign-ups

Host a meet up for an anime, video game, or fashion subculture of your choosing! People can come chat about it and take pictures together!Use this form to apply and host a meet-up!This form will close at 11:59 pm on April 20th!

Photographer Application

We need photographers to take pictures of panels, performances, and cosplayers!DAiCon will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 10 AM-6 PM, and photographers may be assigned shifts at any of those times, although we will try to accommodate time preferences! Photographers will get assigned shifts adding up to about 4 hours total with breaks in between!All photographers will receive FREE admission to DAiCon ($20 value) and snacks and water the day of the event!Use this form to apply!

Check-in will be at the Conference CenterAfter checking in/buying a ticket, attendees will be given a wristband that will be checked before entering the Alumni Center or re-entering the Conference Center, so people will be in and out of reserved buildings.
