IMPORTANT: Props and Cosplay Rules
Aggie Host Security Division from the University of California, Davis Police Department, reserves the right to maintain security, safety, and hospitality during the Davis Anime Convention. Please adhere to their instructions and directions.DAiCon is a family-friendly convention and children are welcome and encouraged to attend, so please keep that in mind when choosing your cosplay.
Props
NO LIVE STEEL at all will be permitted on the premises of the convention.
- No sharp edges or objects that could be used as a weapon are allowed.
- Any metal chains are to be less than three feet (3’) in length. This includes, but is not limited to chain wallets or any non-costume chains as well.NO GUNS OR PROJECTILE LAUNCHERS OF ANY KIND will be permitted.
- NO prop guns of ANY KIND allowed.Prop weapons shall be limited to less than six feet, six inches (6’6″) in height, and less than fifty pounds (50lbs) in weight.
Cosplay
Outfits must cover at least as much as a swimsuit and shoes/sandals must be worn at all times. Makeup and bodypaint are allowed, but do not count towards body coverage. Body paint should be set or sealed so that it will not rub off onto the surroundings.
Leashes, ropes, chains, etc. connecting two or more people are not allowed for safety reasons.
Skate-shoes, roller skates, and rollerblades are not allowed. Skateboarding is not allowed, though skateboards may be used as props if they meet the convention guidelines.
Current US military uniforms, costumes that may be confused with law enforcement, or other emergency response personnel are not permitted.
Miscellaneous
NO ALCOHOL, LIGHTERS, CIGARETTES, AND PEPPER SPRAY permitted at the convention.
